What are the possible side effects of Clotrimazole Bionika?

Stop taking Clotrimazole Bionika and seek emergency medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives).

Side effects are not likely to occur with Clotrimazole Bionika. Continue to take Clotrimazole Bionika and talk to your doctor if you experience

• nausea or stomach upset,

• vomiting,

• itching, or

• an unpleasant sensation in the mouth.

In addition to its needed effects, some unwanted effects may be caused by Clotrimazole Bionika (the active ingredient contained in Clotrimazole Bionika Troche). In the event that any of these side effects do occur, they may require medical attention.

Minor Side Effects

Some of the side effects that can occur with Clotrimazole Bionika may not need medical attention. As your body adjusts to the medicine during treatment these side effects may go away. Your health care professional may also be able to tell you about ways to reduce or prevent some of these side effects. If any of the following side effects continue, are bothersome or if you have any questions about them, check with your health care professional:

What is the most important information I should know about Clotrimazole Bionika?

• Clotrimazole Bionika cream is for vaginal use only. Avoid contact with the eyes, nose, or mouth. If you get Clotrimazole Bionika cream in your eyes, flush with a generous amount of cool water.
• Be sure to use Clotrimazole Bionika cream for the full course of treatment. If you do not, the medicine may not clear up your infection completely. The fungus could also become less sensitive to this or other medicines. This could make the infection harder to treat in the future.
• If your symptoms do not improve within 3 days, if they last more than 7 days, or if they get worse, check with your doctor.
• Do not use Clotrimazole Bionika cream for itching caused by other conditions.
• Dry the outside vaginal area completely after showering, bathing, or swimming. Do not go swimming for at least 9 to 12 hours after applying Clotrimazole Bionika cream. Change out of wet bathing suits or damp workout clothes as soon as possible.
• Continue using Clotrimazole Bionika cream even during your menstrual period. Do not use tampons while you are using Clotrimazole Bionika cream or until all of your symptoms go away. Use unscented pads or pantiliners.
• Do not have vaginal sexual intercourse while you are using Clotrimazole Bionika cream.
• Clotrimazole Bionika cream may decrease the effectiveness of condoms and diaphragms, increasing the chance of pregnancy or risk of sexually transmitted disease.
• Do not use tampons, douches, spermicides, or other vaginal products while using Clotrimazole Bionika cream.
• If you use topical products too often, your condition may become worse.
• Clotrimazole Bionika cream should not be used in CHILDREN younger than 12 years old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
• PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Clotrimazole Bionika cream while you are pregnant. It is not known if Clotrimazole Bionika cream is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Clotrimazole Bionika cream, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Clotrimazole Bionika contraindications

Possible sensitivity to Clotrimazole Bionika.

Rosacea, acne, perioral dermatitis, tuberculosis of the skin and varicose ulcers.

Clotrimazole Bionika is not indicated for ophthalmic use and should be used with caution around the eyes.

Teratogenicity: Corticosteroids have been shown to be teratogenic in animals following dermal application. As these agents are absorbed percutaneously, teratogenicity following topical application cannot be excluded.

Use in pregnancy: Clotrimazole Bionika should not be used during pregnancy.
